The Fiji Police Force will increase its manpower during this festive season to ensure people shop in a safe environment.

Calls have been made for increased police visibility as more people shop for upcoming festivities including Diwali and Christmas.

Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu says officers from other units will move in to assist police officers.

“We will be moving in other units that do not, do normal policing at the admin sections. This other personnel we will be moving them over during the festive season to boost the manpower footprint on the ground.”

Several shops are expected to open till late to allow the public to do their shopping.
