Police use helicopter to step up drug operations

The Fiji Police Force has stepped up its operation against drugs by using helicopters.

Police Chief of Operations, Rusiate Tudravu, says this is to enable them to get best views of areas suspect to have marijuana farms.

“But this is the first time we would like to complement the manpower deployment on the ground together with the intelligence is given and the capabilities that we have, that is the utilization of helicopter to view the farms, the areas, the land mass from the top so that have a fair idea just to confirm information on the ground together with the pictures as we look out from there.”

ACP Tudravu says they chose Kadavu to pilot their new technology project due to the recent drug raids.
