Police urge public to come forward with drug related information

The public are being advised to come forward with information that will assist Police arrest people involved in drug related activities.

Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says they will protect the identification of anyone that gives them information.

Qiliho says people should take away the fear of drug lords as they cannot beat the law and any information passed to Police will greatly assist in investigation.

However, for investigative reasons, Qiliho says some arrests take time as Police want to ascertain the number of people involved.

“It’s good we’re thankful to that. Sometimes people get frustrated and tell us they called a few days ago but you haven’t acted but we take time because we want to gather who else is linked to that. Who is buying off this person, where is he getting it from? All these questions before we act.”

Police are warning drug peddlers they will find hidden drugs as operations step up on those involved in drug related activities.

Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu says dealers and peddlers will explore all possible ways to hide their illegal activities.

Police say they will reach out to every government departments, private and public entities to achieve their fight against drugs.
