Police Superintendent laid to rest

One of the longest serving member of the Police Force was laid to rest in Suva today.

Superintendent of Police Hemadh Kumar passed away at the age of 53 this week after serving more than three decades in the force.

Over hundreds of close families and friends attended the funeral service this morning.

Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho was also present to farewell one his most dedicated officer.

While delivering a eulogy, SP Vuetasau Tumecavai says Kumar was loved by all.

“He is not only liked by his family but he has shown the way for the Fiji Police Force in terms of how he has served his country with dignity and honour.”

SP Kumar served in the Fiji Police Force for 34 years.

He is survived by his wife and three children.
