Police seize methamphetamine in Valelevu home

A 36-year-old man of Valelevu is expected to be produced at the Nasinu Magistrates Court today after he was allegedly found in possession of illicit drugs.

Police confiscated one point two kilograms of methamphetamine from his house on Tuesday.

Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says a raid was conducted two days ago where officers confiscated the hard drug which was tested positive for methamphetamine.

He says the arrest was made following tip-offs from the public adding these drug lords should not be feared.

“There’s this certain fear about these drug lords. There’s no need to be fearful of this people. We will keep your identities if you’re worried about that but we will act on that information. Sometimes we don’t act immediately for obvious reasons for investigative reasons we want to know who else is linked to that. It’s good we’re thankful to that.”

Qiliho says the public gets frustrated sometimes because arrests and raids are delayed.

However, he says they take time to gather more information to find people that are involved in the sale of these hard drugs.
