Police remind students to stay safe this school break

Police are once again reminding school children to stay safe and enjoy responsibly during the school break.

Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu say operations and manpower will be beefed up to monitor activities during the festive season.

He adds Police will be keeping close tabs on youngsters wanting to enter nightclubs.

“It’s also our joint operation with night club owners and security at the night clubs. They are aware of it and are assisting us from checking juveniles that normally go into nightclubs even though they are underage. We will be moving around. Our Police Officers especially in picnic spots and areas where it’s usually visited the members of the community and we hope this is the end of it as we go towards the end of the year.”

Parents and guardians have been warned to take responsibility and monitor the whereabouts of their children.

Tudravu stresses that parental negligence and ignorance will be seriously looked into.
