Police plead with public

Police are pleading with members of the public not to interfere with the information of investigation, regarding a 54 year old pastor of Vanua Levu who is alleged to have impregnated several women, who are members of his congregation.

FBC News understands members of the congregation under the Pastor involved, are apparently telling members of the community that all the allegations against the suspect are false.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says they have managed to record some statements with regards to the alleged incident.

“We received some information that some people are trying to interfere with the investigations, so we just pleading with the members of the public, to understand that this is a very sensitive investigations and what we are wanting to do is to allow the victims to come forward so that they can give us their statements to allow the investigation to get underway.”

Naisoro says anyone who interferes with police investigations could be facing charges for perverting the cause of justice.

Police are asking the public with any information, to report to the nearest police station.
