The Fiji Police Force is overwhelmed with the amount allocated in the 2015 budget.

The one hundred and twenty million dollars allocation is much higher than what the force expected.

Police Commissioner – Ben Groenewald says an effective Police Force can only achieve its goal if it has enough resources.

With the huge amount received in the 2015 budget allocation, the Force hopes to further improve its services.

Groenewald says he will ensure that the money is used in the right places.

‘’There are specific priorities, building of new police stations, normal operational expenses. We cannot just use the money, it is allocated for specific segment and we cannot use it outside that segment’’.

Providing training for the officers is a priority for next year.

Other priority areas include transportation for the Force.

The $120 million allocation is an increase of $8 million compared to last year.
