December 26, 2016 4:29 am

The Fiji Police Force will continue its special operations for the festive season until mid January.

Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu says the police presence on the streets and in popular picnic spots will continue.

“We will maintain that eighty-percent throughout and we would like to have consistencies in our deployment on both the human resources and the vehicles and other resources that we have. So we will continue from Christmas, New Year and then another two weeks after that.”

With Christmas now over, the public are planning to welcome the New year in style, with street parties planned in Suva and the Western Division.

ACP Tudravu says people should not fear for their safety as divisional police commanders are planning deployment along that line.
