Police officers in the Northern Division have been told not to let their guard down when conducting their duties during pre-polls, polls and post-polls
Speaking at the Elections Training for the Officers in Labasa this morning, Acting Chief Operating Officer, Maretino Qiolevu, says the police should know their duties, their roles and their responsibility during the 2018 Election.
Qiolevu says, with the current changes to the political and national landscape, it is incumbent for Police Officers to prepare well.
He reiterated that officers are entrusted to help carry out the elections and they have to be fully aware of what is happening around them and things that can jeopardize their work.
Qiolevu reminded the officers about social media and how any unprofessional conduct by police can be shown around Fiji and the world.
