Twenty-one police officers from around Fiji are currently undertaking a one-month training targeting drill instructors – an integral component of policing operations.

Deputy Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says it’s important to have more drill instructors in the force as it has assisted with the maintenance of discipline.

Tudravu says they need more instructors however, their focus is not only quantity but quality which can be in line with the organizational standard of discipline.

The Deputy Commissioner also shared his concerns about the importance of maintaining the same standard of discipline.

“Don’t let your environment influence the standard of your work as an instructor, your job is to uplift the standard of discipline to meet what is required by the organization and this does not change whether you are serving in an urban or rural area”.

The training is being held at the Fiji Police Academy.
