Police officers recognized for peacekeeping service

The multicultural diversity of United Nations Assistance Mission in Darfur was displayed during the Pacific Islands and Mongolia UNPOL Medals Parade in recognition of their peacekeeping service late last month.

Fijian Police officers make up 13 of the 23 UNAMID serving officers.

Fijian Contingent Commander, ASP Tomasi Baba, thanked the United Nations in recognizing the work for the people of Darfur.

A “Tabua” was presented to thank the UN followed by two “meke” performances in which the three Pacific Contingents performed.
