Police officers make school visits

Police officers around the four policing Divisions have been directed to visit schools over the coming days before the 2017 academic year ends.

Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho, says an area of concern during the festive season is the safety of children.

Qiliho says officers must make time to visit schools and talk to students about the importance of keeping safe and following the right crowd to avoid situations that can affect their education.

He says students must be aware that when under eighteen-years of age they are under guidance and protection of their parents and guardians.

The students are also urged to make the right choices in life and warned of the dangers of social media with regards to chatting with strangers and the sharing of personal information.
