October 15, 2015 5:30 am

The Fiji Police Force is concerned about the negative attitude of people towards officers in the field.

Director Operation, ACP Rusiate Tudravu, has revealed that two officers from Vunisea Police Station in Kadavu suffered injuries yesterday, while investigating drug cultivation on the island.

Tudravu has warned the force won’t take this action lightly and has even issued an ultimatum for the suspect to surrender himself.

“If relatives are listening out whoever is listening knows this guy his name is Kemueli Masikerei, a well-known drug cultivator within the district of Yale ,I am just trying to be frank here and to state that we do not condone people obstructing or injuring our officers.”

The officers suffered cuts and bruises in the attack – which also apparently involved other youths from the village.

Police are continuing investigations against the alleged drug farmer and more officers will be dispatched to the island to apprehend the individual.
