The Fiji Police Force needs to up their game and increase their detection rates when it comes to robbery and home invasion cases.
Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says in that way they can make a significant impact in reducing the statistics in that area.
“We need to work hard on detection rates on those particular cases in that way we can get successful prosecutions and get these people off the streets because the nature of way, the way things are it will be one or group of people involving themselves in a series of the these types of robberies or home invasions or burglaries rather than just doing that one off.”
Qiliho says this is one area that is hurting a lot of Fijians as their homes are being violated.
Meanwhile, there was a 14 percent increase of aggravated robbery from 440 in 2016 to 500 in 2017.
