Police monitor Lautoka businessman after bomb scare

Acting Police Commissioner – Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho confirms that Lautoka businessman Rajneel Singh is being monitored by police after threats on his life.

Singh this week reported to Police that a Molotov cocktail bomb was thrown at his home in the early hours of the morning.

In November, Singh made claims to the Acting Police Commissioner that he was allegedly assaulted by Police officers after reporting finding seditious emails which were left open at his internet shop in Lautoka.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says Police have been actively involved in the investigations.

“The Commissioner of Police did send down a team of senior officers comprising of the Acting Chief of Intel and investigations, he went down yesterday to gather the statement s and just try and find out what exactly happened, the allegations are that an unknown persons threw fire bombs at the home Mr. Singh, that’s all subject to investigations. Our forensics team is also looking into the issue.”

Singh was allegedly physically abused with a hot rod, blind folded and dropped off in a pine forest between Nadi and Sigatoka.
