The Fiji Police Force has issued a stern warning to drivers who continue to operate illegal taxis around towns and cities.
Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu says this is an issue for most taxi drivers and should be stopped.
”We will continue our traffic operation in that regards we have been doing that in the operation period and we will continue to do that just to get those that are involved illegally in operating without any valid taxi base and will continue to get them out.”
ACP Tudravu says these illegal operators should make good use of the lifting of taxi permit freeze and apply for a taxi permit.
He adds drivers caught to be operating illegal taxis will be taken to task.
