The Fiji Police Force wants parents to be more responsible during the school holidays following four drowning in just a week.
A seven-year-old girl was found floating in a river by her mother in Vutia, Rewa on Wednesday afternoon.
She was playing outside alone.
A 13-year-old student of Lami was found near the Veisari Bridge in Lami after she had jumped off the bridge but did not surface.
She was swimming with her cousins at around 5pm when the incident occurred.
This comes after two boys died while swimming in a river in Sigatoka over the weekend.
The drowning toll stands at 20 compared to 33 for the same period last year.
