Police are trying to confirm the authenticity of a video showing two girls apparently openly consuming drugs.

The video was uploaded to social media last night but has since been deleted.

It shows one girl lighting an apparatus and instructing another on how to use it.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says they are trying to find out who uploaded the video and also identify the girls seen in the video.

Naisoro says they will first need to confirm if it is in fact actual hard drugs and anyone who may be able to assist is urged to come forward.
