Police are investigating an attack on one of their own which landed an officer in hospital a few days ago.

The policeman was attacked with stones at an informal settlement outside Suva while investigating a case.

Chief of Operations, ACP Rusiate Tudravu says they want to make it clear that they will come out hard on people that retaliate on police officers who are executing their duties.

“I am just trying to warn people, if they are bold enough to commit the offence then they are bold enough when the police officers come around and do their investigations rather than stoning the vehicle and it does not look healthy in terms of our relationship. We are just carrying out our duties and I would like to warn people not to do that to our police officers.

Tudravu says they are not going to take such issue lightly and will arrest anyone who interferes with their work.
