A post mortem examination will soon be conducted to ascertain the cause of death of a fifty year old woman in Namada, Ba.

Parvati Kumar died after sustaining seventy percent burns.

There have been numerous claims on social media that Kumar was allegedly set alight by her partner on Friday evening.

She was admitted in Lautoka Hospital where she died on Saturday.

Police Spokesperson – Ana Naisoro says at the moment the case has been classified as an alleged suicide.

Naisoro is urging people with information to come forward and help the Police in investigation.

She says the findings of the investigation will be sent to the resident magistrate for an inquest.
