Police are now investigating an incident where the outpatients department at Vunisea sub-divisional hospital caught fire last night.

Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says 12 patients had to be evacuated to a near-by government facility while officers at the scene tried to put to fire out.

The estimated cost of damages now stands at $10,000.

Investigations continue.
