Police Inspector Mavis Fatiaki has secured a three year scholarship offered by the People’s Republic of China.
Fatiaki will be studying at the People’s Public Security University of China and is the second member of the Force to receive the scholarship.
The University offers studies in law, foreign languages, literature, criminal investigation, criminology, management, information security, traffic control and forensic science.
The Director International Relations SSP says the institution was extremely grateful to be given another opportunity to send an officer to study in China.
Having only served for five years, Fatiaki thanked the Police Commissioner for selecting her to represent the institution.
In 2011, the Chinese and Fijian Government signed a Police Cooperation Agreement which has to date seen the two enforcement organisations exchange assistance in many forms.
