The Fiji Police Force is singling out drug cultivators in their war of drugs.
Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu has defended their operations despite criticism that it’s a waste of tax payers funds and that other criminal activities should be prioritized.
”You cannot say that it is a waste of money because this is the life of a person which is very important for us. That is why we are here, the existence of the Fiji Police is to provide safety and security of the people, the property so that is why money is given for search and rescue, why money is given for general operation, to provide safety for the people”
According to ACP Tudravu, calls made to legalize marijuana for trade purpose will never be an option.
The Force is now using helicopters to identify suspect marijuana farms.
