The Police Force has been tasked to ensure the 2018 General election is incident free.

Qiolevu was speaking to thirty-two police officers at the Northern Police Headquarters at the opening of the Elections Training for Police Officers.

Qiolevu says they will be dealing with the public who are well versed with the law and may even try something to test the police and see if they react to situations linked to the electoral process.

He adds, police are always the scapegoats when it comes to events of national interest adding there are people who will try and find faults in their conduct to discredit the electoral process.

He told the officers to keep in mind that all attempts to discredit their work in the electoral process can be avoided if they stick to the law and conduct their duties according to the Electoral Act and the Police Act itself.

Qiolevu also warned the officers they will find themselves in a predicament if they derail from the law.
