Enjoy this festive season but be sure not to break the law.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says this is one time when many forget their responsibilities.

“This time the itaukei community has a lot of engagements, we have a lot of engagements, we have a lot of social responsibilities that take up a lot of our time and take us away from our homes and some of our responsibilities, I think parents and guardians at this point in time they need to priorities.”

Naisoro adds parents and guardians should take out time and pay attention to their children.

“Parents should really really think properly before leaving their children at home unsupervised or have a sit down with their children and talk to them with what they can do if they are faced in time of an emergency.”

Naisoro says there are always a handful of people that ignore their advice and warnings, but police will not allow anyone to abuse the law.
