Police continue investigation on the use of guns

The Fiji Police Force is still investigating the alleged use of guns by people believed to be involved in training of a seditious nature in Nadroga, Tavua and Rakiraki.

With 72 people charged and currently in custody, Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro says people should not speculate on the ongoing investigation.

At this point of time we will not be able to release specific details regarding I know there is a lot of questions asked about the use of weapons but we will not go into specific because the matter is before courts.

Naisoro confirms more suspects are likely to be arrested in the coming days and charges will be laid accordingly.

It’s believed that some people were seen training with weapons in the interior of Ra.

The Fiji Military Forces is also assisting police in the search for the weapons.
