An awareness outreach program is underway to help the people of Kadavu to find ways to counter the illegal cultivation of marijuana.

This after a request from the Kadavu provincial council last year.

The team is being led by the Southern Division Manager Community Policing ASP Iliesa Bolabiu and consists of officers from the Drugs Unit, Sexual offences Unit and Juvenile Bureau.

Drugs Unit Head Detective Inspector Anare Masitabua says the officers also conducted awareness programs at several Primary and Secondary Schools.
