Police charge man for sacrilege

Police have arrested and charged a man believed to be in his 20’s for sacrilege and robbery over the weekend.

Spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirms the man stole equipment from the Victory Assemblies of God church in Makoi, Nasinu.

Naisoro says the man is currently remanded for another case which will be heard in court next Monday.

Meanwhile, four men were questioned and released after found to have been fishing without a license and using an unregistered boat last Sunday.

Naisoro confirms this revelation was made through the joint operation between the Force and Fisheries Ministry Officials at the Nakelo landing in Tailevu.

Naisoro says the officials also seized their fishing gear, engine and fish that were caught.
