Police caution drivers following road accidents

Police are once again advising motorists to be cautious whilst using the road during this adverse weather conditions.

The advice comes following several road accidents yesterday.

At Votualevu in Nadi, a 14 year-old boy died instantly when he was hit by a white van at around 6pm.

The van failed to stop and police are looking for information that will help them in their investigation.

In Nasinu, oustside Suva – a 12 year-old student was hit by a taxi driven by a 60yr old driver. He was rushed to the CWM Hospital and is under observation.

The driver has been questioned and releases and police are waiting for medical reports on the status of the victim in order to lay charges.

In another incident, a 16year old student remains admitted at the Wainibokasi Hospital after she was hit by a rental car.

The driver has been questioned and released while police await medical report.

Police investigation continues.
