Police beefs up security for festival and school break

The Police Force is cautioning parents and guardians to take extra care of their children in the upcoming school holidays.

Police Chief of Operations, ACP Rusiate Tudravu says there will be a lot of activities like the Vodafone Hibiscus Festival that will draw the attention of children.

“We would urge that the spirit of the festival be there and come and enjoy themselves but we will also be beefing up the patrol just to provide security to the community at large.”

Tudravu says they are working closely with the festival committee to ensure the safety of the public at festival venue as well as in the city.

He adds police will also be on alert especially at major sporting events like the schools rugby Deans Final in Suva on Saturday.
