A 60-year-old taxi driver and a 14-year-old boy received bravery awards today from the Fiji Police Force.
Sisa Kanaveilomani, from Colo-I-Suva, was awarded for helping apprehend a drunk driver, while Misa Cakacaka, from Nasinu, helped stop an aggravated robbery.
Presenting the awards, Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho said without the support of the public, the force will not be able to fight crime alone.
“The little that we have given you today is our sign of appreciation, we cannot do enough to thank you, we know that this is the beginning of many other issues we can deal with to keep Fiji safe.”
The police force will continue to award those who contribute to keeping communities safe.
