The police are waiting for the resident magistrate to identify whether there is any criminal element in the case of a man who fell from a Suva apartment last month.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro told FBC News the police have compiled a report and handed it over to the Resident Magistrate.

She says this is done to further clarify whether there is anything in the file to further the investigation.

Naisoro says there is no timeframe for the response from the Resident Magistrate.

Josateki Narube, 26, was found unconscious outside a Suva apartment on early Saturday morning and later died at a hospital.

Police cannot reveal the post mortem result.

A staff of the Suva based New Zealand High Commission, who is alleged to have been with the deceased prior to his death has given his statement to the Police.

Police confirms there are no suspects in the case as yet.
