Police are awaiting the result of the poisonous substance found in the homebrew that was consumed by three men and a woman two weeks ago.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the substance has been tested in their laboratory.

The eighteen-year-old woman is currently admitted at the Vunisea Hospital in Kadavu after consuming homebrew.

Naisoro says the woman was with the group who drank homebrew in Nepani, Nasinu during the Coca-Cola Games weekend.

Two men who were part of the group died on the same day while the third victim is still admitted at Suva’s CWM Hospital.

It’s believed they mixed a poisonous substance in the homebrew and as a result got severely sick within hours of consuming it.

Investigation continues.
