Papua New Guineans and the hotel named in the alleged Fiji prostitute story published in the Fiji Sun and on social media have denied any involvement in the sex saga.

PNG Authorities are calling for investigations into the matter as the story had not only defamed the PNG members of Parliament allegedly involved, it also tarnished the reputation of the hotel mentioned with the matter now a diplomatic issue.

PNG’s Post-Courier reports that PNG’s Vice Minister for Sports, Wesley Raminai and managing director for mineral resources development corporation, Augustine Mano are alleged to have been involved in the alleged incident.

They have labelled the allegations as “rubbish and the biggest joke of the century.

The Post Courier further reports the hotel management had no idea who the Fijian girls were – saying the story had tarnished the hotel’s reputation.

Meanwhile, Fiji’s Foreign Affairs Minister Inia Seruiratu confirms an investigation will be carried out to ascertain whether Fijian women were flown to PNG to provide sexual services to certain politicians.

Seruiratu says he will not make any further comments as it’s an allegation and they have to establish the facts through the conduct of an investigation.
