Pneumonia cases on the rise

Anyone with the slightest cough, fever or chest pain can get infected with pneumonia and health authorities are issuing a stern warning to people seek medical assistance if they show up with these symptoms.

The Colonial War Memorial Hospital’s, Director Intensive Care Unit, Dr Vereniki Raiwalui says pneumonia is an infection of the lungs and if left untreated can be fatal.

Dr Raiwalui says pneumonia tops the list of cases received at the hospital.
This is followed by asthma attack and other respiratory diseases.
