The Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has completed his tour of the flood affected areas in the western division.

Our reporter Apisalome Coka is in Rakiraki and files this report.

“Commodore Bainimarama has wrapped up his visit of the flood affected areas and evacuation centres here in the western division. Bainimarama started his visit last Saturday where he was forced to return from Navo Bridge in Nadi as it was damaged. On Sunday he visited Naqali in Naitasiri and Wailotua in Tailevu before moving to the western division on Monday. It has been a fruitful visit for the Prime Minister especially getting all firsthand information on the ground and being able to make decisions where it was necessary to do so. Bainimarama has confirmed he will be making an announcement tomorrow in regards to the recent floods. This will include a statement on the government’s assistance, work plan and foreign aid that has come in. The Prime Minister is now on his way back to Suva.”
