Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has welcomed the support shown by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has welcomed the support shown by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to be part of the global fight against Climate Change.

Bainimarama says Guterres has shown that they both have the same interest in trying to rally international countries to see the reality of the issue.

He says Fiji will continue to fight and find avenues in which small island nations can be assisted when faced by the impacts of climate change.

Bainimarama says there is a great need to highlight the voices of climate vulnerable people to big world countries.

“From his remarks yesterday, it’s clear that we share a genuine fire in our bellies and that the voices of climate vulnerable people resonating loud and clear at the very highest level of global leadership”

The Prime Minister says they will ensure that Pacific-born ideas of mitigating climate change are spread far beyond the Pacific.
