PM to open National Womens Expo

The three day National Women’s Expo will be opened this morning by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

With the theme “Connecting Women to Markets – Make It Happen’ the expo brings together 600 sponsored participants.

A total of 156 participants are expected from the Central Division, 120 participants from the North, 130 participants from the West and 194 participants from the Eastern division.

Capacity Building Workshops will also be held for participants, conducted by UNDP, Westpac Bank and Indonesia Ministry of Women to name a few.

The Guest of Honor for the Expo is the Indonesian Minister for Women Professor-Dr Yohana Susana Yembise.

Japanese Ambassador to Fiji Takuji Hanatani is expected to present $63,000 assistance for the Women’s Expo.

Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Hon. Faiyaz Koya is also expected to present Fijian Made license certificates to 43 women artisans to help them venture into SME’s (Small and Microenterprises).

The Fiji Women’s Expo will end on Friday.
