Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, says he has the people of Tonga and the Southern Lau group in his thoughts who felt the brunt of severe Tropical Cyclone Gita.

Speaking in Sigatoka this morning, Bainimarama said this is a trying time for Fijians and also our brothers and sisters in Tonga.

“We pray for the people of Tonga and the people of Ono-i-Lau. I don’t think they deserve this wet weather and Hurricane but we hope that they are in good health. I also understand from the news that there’s been no deaths recorded in Tonga so I think they are very lucky.”
