Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama speaks out on Botanical Garden issue

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has told politicians to stop politicizing the Suva Botanical Garden issue.

Speaking on Radio Fiji One’s talkback show, Bainimarama says the perspective of the agreement with the Indian government has been taken out of context.

The Prime Minister says some politicians have stated that the building of the new Indian Embassy will damage parts of the Botanical Garden.

He says this is not true as the piece of land given to the Indian government is away from the garden itself.

Bainimarama says the land in question is state land and the Government will have the final say as to what development takes place.

On the same note, Bainimarama assured all Fijians that no one will damage the iconic Botanical Garden area.
