The collective and rich cultural traditions and heritage is what makes Fiji what it is today.
While celebrating the Chinese New Year with the Chinese Fijian Community in Suva yesterday, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says Fiji will continue to bring everyone together despite race or ethnicity.
Bainimarama says this will be inherited by generations to come.
He adds Fiji through its rich cultural diversity has laid a solid foundation of prosperity and stability for the youth to build upon it.
“I’m incredibly proud that as they grow into adulthood when they have families of their own, Fiji is growing alongside them, the opportunity for higher education for employment and new and innovating industries in career paths and for achieving the dream of personal success and fulfillment has never been greater.”
Bainimarama thanked the Chinese Fijian community for being an integral part of Fiji’s growth in the last 165 years.
“We have witnessed incredible things together since then having achieved the record-breaking stick of economic growth. Taken a position of regional and global prominence once unthinkable and brought new opportunities and prosperity to our people. We have seen the implementation of the revolutionary constitution that has guarantee equality for all Fijians regardless of who they are or where they come from and we have held our nation’s first two elections that were truly free and fair.”
He has also urged the support of the community in taking the nation forward.
