Students of Naseyani Primary School in Ra were are smiles yesterday as Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama officially opened their new dining hall.
Head Teacher Selina Dakuwaqa says the hall was destroyed during TC Winston in 2016 and since then the students have had to use a makeshift shed during lunch hour.
Dakuwaqa says that the students will benefit greatly from the new dining hall.
“Yes they will be using the dining hall and they will really appreciate the new dining facility during lunch hour.”
Meanwhile, Bainimarama reminded villagers that during this period, many promises will be made by politicians as the General Elections will be held this year.
During the opening hall, Bainimarama says that some politicians will be making claims that may need to be verified.
“As soon as we enter an election season, your communities will be filled candidates hoping to win your favour over kava while making all sorts of claims and guarantees.”
Bainimarama says that his advice is to pay attention to those that can give inclusive development and genuinely care.
Meanwhile, 103 will benefit from the new dining hall.
