Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama met with the Indonesian government representatives yesterday.

This is in regards to the state of infrastructure at the newly rebuilt Queen Victoria School in Tailevu.

The Indonesian government under Fiji’s “Adopt a School Program” stepped in to rebuild QVS after it suffered substantial damage during Tropical Cyclone Winston in 2016.

Bainimarama has met with the Indonesian government after witnessing firsthand the state of QVS infrastructure and wants a review of the work that was done in 2016.

“I met up with his Excellency the ambassador yesterday and we have discussed ways to get QVS to what it was before.”

Speaking to FBC News, the Indonesian Ambassador says they’re ready to step in to do the repair again.

While there has been no confirmation yet if the Indonesian government will carry out repair works at the school, the Prime Minister on Wednesday has issued a directive to his officials to begin repair work at QVS as soon as possible.
