PM launches Walesi platform in Taveuni

Taveuni has now become the first place in Vanua Levu to access the Walesi Digital Television platform.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama launched the Walesi platform in the villages of Korovou in Bouma, Naselesele and Lamini yesterday.

Bainimarama says this is a major milestone for government in its mission to give every Fijian more access to information and technology.

“You can now follow more of the news and stay up to date on developments across the country, you can cheer on our Flying Fijians in their matches, and all of our athletes competing in different sports around the world, you can watch religious services with your families and can find new ways to see the world and learn about other peoples, nations and cultures.”

The Walesi Platform has eight channels including FBC, FBC 2, FBC Plus, Fiji TV, Channel 2, MaiTV, Hope Channel and a Parliament Channel.

Meanwhile, more channels are expected in the future.
