PM launches ISO meeting

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama today launched the 41st International Sugar Organisation meeting at the Ashok Hotel in New Delhi, India.

Bainimarama who is also the vice-chairman of the ISO met with executives of the Export-Import Bank of India to further discuss details of its loan to the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) for the upgrading of sugar mills in Fiji.

He is accompanied by executive chairman of the Fiji Sugar Corporation, and the High Commissioner to India.

India’s Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh also met with Bainimarama with hopes to further explore and strengthen the bilateral trade relations between their two countries.

Dr Singh also congratulated the PM on the “bold, imaginative steps” taken since 2006, and wished Fiji well in the formulation of a new constitution and subsequent elections in 2014.
