PM calls to extend arms of friendship to Sri Lanka

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is calling on all Fijians to extend arms of friendship to Sri Lankan friends and neighbors living among us in Fiji.

Bainimarama in condemning the horrific acts in Sri Lanka, says Fijians will fight this heinous acts by condemning any and all forms of religious intolerance in the strongest of terms.

The Prime Minister adds we must actively work to rise above hatred, and fill the world with love.

“The bombing on an Easter Sunday by those terrorists’ deliberately targeted churches with their hatred, once again aiming to instill fear in the hearts of those looking for peace. These acts have no place in this world, especially on the holiest of days on the Christian calendar.”

Bainimarama adds for Fijians, our nation’s deep ties to Sri Lanka have made these horrific acts all the more devastating.

The Prime Minister is calling on the nation to pray for the victims, for their loved ones, for the recovery of the injured and for all Sri Lankans.

Bainimarama states around the world, there is a violent assault on religious freedom afoot, with no group or faith immune.
