PM attends climate meetings in Berlin and Belgium

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will attend the second ministerial meeting on Climate Action in Brussels, Belgium on Wednesday and Thursday.

Canada, China and the EU will co-convene the Ministerial Meeting on Climate Action, as agreed at the previous meeting in September last year and announced during the One Planet Summit in December 2017.

The three countries convened the Ministerial Meeting on Climate Action to advance discussions on the full implementation of the Paris Agreement.

They also discussed how to demonstrate a continued political commitment to global action.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister left the country on Saturday and is currently in Berlin attending the 9th Petersburg Climate Dialogue.

He will be joined by COP 23 negotiator Luke Daunivalu and Climate Ambassador and Head of Mission to the EU Deo Saran.
