Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has acknowledged renowned actor and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger for his bold leadership on the climate struggle.

Speaking to Schwarzenegger via a satellite link, Bainimarama says there is still a chance that major countries can work together to save those who are vulnerable to climate change.

Schwarzenegger chaired a discussion by diverse group of leaders to tackle climate change and Bainimarama thanked him for trying to tackle the lack of complacency towards the issue.

“The scientist have just told us that the goal to limiting warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius is still possible but it is quickly moving out of reach and we need to move a lot faster and we need your help to do it.”

Bainimarama says climate change is too big of an issue to leave to national governments alone.
