PIDF members signs Suva Declaration on Climate Change

The Suva Declaration on Climate Change will pave the way forward for the Pacific in the fight against climate change.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama made the statement while closing the third summit of the Pacific Islands Development Forum.

The Suva Declaration is destined to be a document that signifies the voice of every people in the Pacific who have been at the forefront in the fight against climate change.

Bainimarama says the declaration highlighted the threat of climate change in the Pacific and not enough is being done to prevent the world from warming further and increasing the danger to our way of life.

Bainimarama is confident that with the declaration major countries around the world will be able to hear the concerns raised by pacific island nations.

The PIDF has called on ordinary people to stand with them, to lobby their politicians, to accept changes and join the fight against climate change.
